SWAA

So, I was checking my e-mail today and I saw an e-mail that I think might interest some of you out there. It's the Social Welfare Action Alliance conference and they are looking for papers and participation. Okay so the 2008 National Meeting and Conference is on April 4-6, 2008 at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel, obviously in Houston (duh).

The topics for this conference are:

• Katrina Recovery
• Immigration
• Social Activism

They are looking for agency-based social workers and human service workers, students, faculty, and community activists are all encouraged to submit proposals. Please include the following:

• Cover page with names, addesses, and affiliations of all presenters,
• 250-word proposal linked to the conference themes and/or the principles of SWAA,
• 50-word abstract for the published program,
• In the proposal, please indicate preferred format - paper, panel presentation, or interactive workshop - and preference for a 45-,60- or 90-minute time frame (or they are open to alternative formats).

So send your proposals by February 15, 2008 to Dr. Susan Robins at srobbins@uh.edu.
